Patriots Super Bowl odds

For the first time since Drew Bledsoe was chucking the ball for the Patriots, New England is not one of the off-season favorites to raise the Lombardi Trophy.

A whopping 11 teams have better or equal Super Bowl odds right now at FanDuel Sportsbook. And adding insult to injury is the fact that sportsbooks believe Tom Brady’s new team will have a more successful 2020 season than his old one.

Patriots Super Bowl odds

Here are the current Super Bowl odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Kansas City Chiefs: +650

Baltimore Ravens: +700

San Francisco 49ers: +900

New Orleans Saints: +1300

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: +1700

Dallas Cowboys: +1900

Philadelphia Eagles: +1900

Seattle Seahawks: +2000

Buffalo Bills: +2200

Green Bay Packers: +2200

Minnesota Vikings: +2200

New England Patriots: +2200

The Patriots now have company in terms of AFC East winning odds as well. The Buffalo Bills are currently +120 to take the division crown, as are the Pats.

As for winning the conference, the Patriots are +1000.

A week ago, right before Brady made his decision, the Patriots were +1600 to win it all. The Buccaneers, meanwhile, were +3500.

Replacing a legend

The big question for the Patriots right now is obviously at quarterback. The Pats signed a familiar face in journeyman Brian Hoyer this past weekend, but that will do nothing to silence the doubters.

If Bill Belichick were to bring in a bigger name like Cam Newton, one can bet that there would be an uptick in the Pats’ odds. But at the moment it seems like Belichick is content with letting Hoyer, second-year man Jarrett Stidham, and possibly a quarterback from the 2020 draft class compete for the starting gig.

Patriots brass have believed for several years that they can win big without Brady. An anonymous Patriots employee told ESPN two years ago that the Pats believe if they have any top 15 QB in the league, they can position themselves as a Super Bowl contender.
